Preparing for the Celebration of Hanukkah

Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a Jewish celebration that recognizes the dedication of the Holy Temple. Hanukkah will begin on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and end on Wednesday, Dec. 20 which means many people are starting to prepare!

Hilliards Chocolates is offering several themed gourmet chocolates that are ideal for families preparing for Hanukkah.

We’ve highlighted some of our Hanukkah themed gourmet chocolates perfect for your celebrations!

Hanukkah Peppermint Bark

Our Hanukkah Peppermint Bark consists of a signature dark chocolate and smooth white chocolate with just the right amount of natural oil of peppermint to enhance the chocolate flavors.  We’ve layered the peppermint bark with specially made blue crushed peppermint hard candy to add in a Celebration of Hanukkahbit of crunch. Thinking about giving this peppermint bark as a gift? For a small charge, we can provide Hanukkah themed gift wrappings.

The two colors featured in this product, blue and white, are the colors most often associated with the Jewish faith. The Israeli flag is blue and white, which is a true symbol of the Jewish people and of Judaism.  The tallitot, a Jewish prayer shawl that often appears in important Jewish faith ceremonies, is often blue and white as well.

Hanukkah Pops TrioHilliards Chocolates

Our Hanukkah Pops Trio consists of three milk chocolate pops, perfect for a Chanukah celebration! This rich, smooth milk chocolate trio includes one Star of David pop, one menorah pop, and one “Happy Chanukah” pop with a small picture of the Star of David.

The Star of David is the six-pointed star that is symbolic for Judaism and for Israel and there are many opinions on what it symbolizes depending on your beliefs.  The menorah is representative of the candelabrum consisting of nine candles which is a well-known symbol of Judaism and plays a large role in Hanukkah celebrations.
